Default Windshield wiper freeze for one cycle in cold

Dear friends,

I've got an issue with my 2006 XJ Sovereign wipers. They freeze in the middle of a cycle momentarily and continue moving with the next cycle. It only happens when the outside temperature is around or below zero (Celcius) and only in Auto mode. As the car warms up, the problem disappears.
The local dealer, certainly, suggests replacing the entire electrical system of the car )))).
Has anybody faced the same problem?
Thanks for your help.

Well known problem. the issue is mechanical due to corrosion in spindles like in mirror folding mechanism. But you can fix it by lube. You have to disassemble the gear which holds arms and motor. Sometimes this behavior appears when friction between glass and blade it too high.
