XJR brakes on XJ6?
Hi.
Looking to upgrade my '03 XJ6 with XJR brakes - mainly beacause of the nice look of the R calipers/ventilated discs..
Will the XJR calipers and discs fit the XJ6 without modifications?
Regards

That's "probably not" as in "definitely not" - right?

Yep, meant definitely not...sorry bud.
I dont think the XJR brakes are comparable on the X308 platform.

Theoretically, that should work (if both are X350), but you will need to change rotors, calipers and the item that the caliper is bolted on. Generally - whole assembly. The hub size is identical to my knowledge (although might be mistaken).

The Brembos need a different vertical link / hub carrier, the caliper mounting is not the same.
The Teeves from a 2006MY will bolt up on the front.
The rear Brembos will be a massive undertaking as there are a lot of different parts needed.

I retrofitted the post-2006 X350 XJR brakes to my 2004 3.0 XJ6. Those are the non-Brembo ones that are still used on the current X351 XJ and some others like the XF. You can buy them OEM in unfinished, red, black and silver, or paint them (I painted mine quartz grey to match the car). The calipers were a direct swap, but you will also need new heat shields and brake hoses as the port position changes. You should also replace the caliper fixing bolts rather than reuse them.
My reason for changing them was because driving alongside my XJR and X351 I was always annoyed at how badly the XJ6 stopped in comparison. It wasn't dangerous; just a bit unnerving when you are used to stronger braking. The consumables were also cheaper last time I checked as they are still current parts.
