XJR engine/drivetrain improvements?
I can't seem to find any information on this - searching the interwebs and here What, if anything, besides electronics etc, did Jaguar upgrade on the XJR's? i.e. pistons/crank/rods etc. I also found a mention that the ZF tranny was an upgrade from the XJ8 6 speed? true or not?
What other driveline upgrades. I know the brakes and suspension, quicker steering too I believe?

Same crank
Different rods and pistons
Oil squirters added to supercharged block to cool the pistons
Different oil thermostat and filter block, different oil cooler
Different exhaust manifolds, cats and exhaust
The pre-06 cars had different cams and were without VVT
The whole intake system is different, obviously
Transmission got extra clutches to handle the increased torque
Same steering rack regardless of engine
Bigger brakes on the Supercharged

Thanks cambo, thanks calhoun - I was just thinking 'where's cambo?'.
so it did have a different tranny ZF. No quicker steering.
oil squirters - nice. I'll assume the pistons lowered the compression ratio.
I'm looking at an '04 XJR and the info has been surprisingly difficult to find. Usually you find the articles when a new car comes out and they have a nice list of differences right from the manufacturer to the journalist to tout all the goodness.

And here's the 2004 tech guide Jag Repair is nice enough to house...wow, I wasn't really expecting to spend an hour plus reading through that thing, fascinating.
http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto...ch%20Guide.pdf
From some notes I made while reading (to add to the good info above)
*XJR got solid axles vs tubular on NA's.
*Brembo brakes have a separate rear ebrake caliper.
*XJR uses aluminum forged pistons vs. cast in NA engine. 9:1 vs 11:1 comp ratio
*Both have sinter forged rods - read up a bit on these; and they seem to be as strong or arguably better than forged rods
*XJR has a thermostatically controlled oil diverter valve to the oil cooler.
*XJR has an intake control flap - at high demand it opens a flap in the intake box to let more air get through
*Different muffler internals - I found a note saying something like 'each configuration has different rear muffler internals'
*Cat sizes are different in exhaust; as well as log stainless manifolds as cambo noted
Interestingly I found a note that say all V8's use a smaller steering pump pulley.
XJR's also have:
Sport seats "R-performance"
full leather steering wheel
de-chrome exterior package
8.5x19 rims
R leather gear shift knob
