Default '97 X300 VDP Inertia Switch Location

Where is the inertia switch located on a '97 VDP?
I removed the plastic cover under the front passenger kick-panel, and did not see a switch there.
[The arrow in the picture points towards the passenger seat]

I'm not sure, but you may be looking on the wrong side. However, take off the front footwell side panel on the passenger side to see if it is in there. If not it will be in the drivers side either above the pedals or behind the footwell side panel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I found it on the passengers side footwell side panel, towards the front of the car. On another note, depressing it did not resolve my start up issue ...onto checking battery level ...if not, then I suspect the security system is engaged ..

Battery level reads 2.3V.
I think that is the root-cause of the car being dead [i.e. no crank, no lights, nothing, just quiet]

This is for a right hand steering model with the pedals on the right

A left hand steering model will still have the ECU and inertia switch on the right side fwd of the door hinge

The ECU is under a small plastic cover that has been removed in this pic from someone else

To make the circuit , jumper the 2 white wires ( the 3rd black wire socket you will leave alone ) with a paper clip and this will enable the car to run , works from experience

The inertia switch does not always reset from reading
