Default adding features to security system.

I am pretty sure the answer to this would be NO as all features are programmed to work or not in the security module,
however,
i was wondering would it be possible to add features like interior intrusion sensors and tilt sensor to a car that came without them?
I know my drive away locking does not activate and i am not sure why. (not bothered by it but curious to know)
maybe it is because i don't have a remote fob so there is no alarm locking? i dunno that makes no sense.

just curious as it would be nice to maybe add a tilt sensor as i have only ever had one car stolen before and that was a non-runner that was stolen on the back of a tow truck.
would guess i would need to find a car with the features and take the features and the security module and then make sure the security moduile is a match to the one in my car.

Spud I think the drive-away locking is dealer-level, or at least factory programmed by market. It would be actuated by the park microswitch If your park interlock and key barrel lock works the switch is ok.

It should be possible to get the tilt/intrusion sensors along with another "full security" SLCM to match.

BUT if you checked Jaguar Classic, you saw a minefield of SLCMs sent worldwide with probably 50 versions made. The UK version is LNA2600CB /001 (or /008 >737720). Maybe that would be the easiest version to find?

LNA2600BC/003 seems to be the Australia version with full security.

yeah so that would be inline with what I thought, would need to get the matching SLCM.
not concerned about the drive away locking. i assume it has been switched off as the park microswitch works just fine. car beeps at me if i turn it off and leave it not in park, i can't change it out of park without key in and foot on brake etc.
I remember when checking the site my SLCM did not seem to match what should be for AU market. so yeah it is a bit confusing at the best of times.
I will just note if I do come across a car wrecking maybe it might be worth checking for. but at the same time maybe it is too much $$$ for what it is worth.
mine is LNA2600BB/003 which did not seem to match what AU market does. i may get around to looking more into it as i have the issues with a non working fob. so potentially a SLCM swap is on the cars and tilt sensor would be great to add

Hey Spud,

If the guy who fixed your idle has an Autologic device then he should be able program the options you want. Give him a call.

Cheers,
Jeff.

does the tilt sensor require a part to be added?
i know the intrusion sensor would need to be added in the cabin.

but yeah when i get a chance i will get my car out there and see what can and can't be done.

yes youd need to install a tilt sensor. I’m not sure if the wiring harness is fitted with the wires and connectors for a tilt sensor but knowing Jaguar’s
tendency to run the same wiring harness on all cars, and just leaving unused connectors disconnected, it’s quite possible that the connector is sitting there waiting for something to be plugged into it as an example, I have an S type R, which has no front fog lamps due to the placement of the oil coolers in the fog lamp area. However, behind the front bumper there is a fog lamp connector sitting there disconnected. and there is a relay mounted in the fuse box under the hood for fog lamps.

there are many many unused plugs and from everything i have seen so far all wiring harnesses are there.
the only option so far i have seen which did not have wiring harness there for was the passenger seat switches that are controlled from the rear. But they are a very limited option.
so many vacant plugs when you start to look around everywhere.
makes it very convenient to add features.
my only thought with security stuff is what might be simple plug and play, what might need to be plugged in and then turned on as a dealer level option in the security module and then what is hardcoded into the security module and would require a module swap.

** edit.
just done a little research and saw that the tilt sensor is JLM20344 and was a factory option that was the same on later model xk8s as well as i assume others. And should be plug in, and then turn on via the dealer level software.
