Hi all,
My CD/tape button did nothing when pressed. The tape player worked fine just no CD function. I found a fix that worked for me today, I finally can play CDs via the exchanger in the trunk. I found this post https://www.mraven.com/Jaguar_X300_Radio.html
He describes a resister that may have not been factory soldered well. When I opened my radio the circuit board was slightly different then his but I found the same size resister 223 near the heat sink as he described in his post. I had nothing to loose so freshened up the solder on each side of 223 and put the radio back together. Plugged it all back together and to my surprise I have a CD player again. Button is fully functional, I can switch between tape and CD now. I was super happy until somehow I messed up my lcd clock putting the radio back in, I just had got that working again last month. Well one step forward and two back, will need to replace that display again. Any ways hope this helps someone. Attached are two pics of my innards the zoom in with 223 is the one to solder. You may need to zoom in to see if clearly it is between the black tube E511 and the heat sink.
Aj9500a zoomed out innards 223 next to heat sink, solder both sides. Zoom in to see it next to tube E511.
There have been reports from others of the control head in the same AJ9500R head as it goes back to the trunk DIN X number brown X number round wire for the premium final power amp for the speakers
This brown round wire group will be an empty hole on the standard setup AJ9500R back side
