Alarm question
My fob has now packed in and despite buying a replacement off Ebay I have been unable to get the car to enter the learning mode.
So I only have the key to turn off the alarm.
My question is if I needed to remove the battery/negative cable, would this reset the alarm and would I be able to turn it off with the key alone?

FOB's are frequency specific for different parts of the world . North America is 315 . Look on the back of the old and new and ensure they match . There are replacement thumb switches and rubber covers available to repair these FOB's ( and you might be able to repair what you have in hand ) if I can find them again . It is the positive cable you want to remove .
Someone will come along about the reprogramming

Interesting, this

Gives alternative method for 1997+ using the flashing five times rather than the valet button. Will try.

I programmed mine using the usual programming method, I think it took 3 or 4 attempts though before it all worked

Re your fob, whats wrong with it? Maybe it can be fixed?
