Default Cam chain noise!!

Brought the Jag 149000 on the clock, found out on here about the cam chain tensioner causing a noisey cam chain. It had been done in the past but changed it again and cured it. Well it did for a week, seems to be creeping back again but not as bad. She was serviced at a garage about 500 miles ago. Would anyone like to break me the bad news????

No, timing cover removal. Do you have an XJ or an XJR? I ask because the procedures differ a bit.

You can follow this guide then.

Jaguar XJ6 timing chain, Jaguar chain guides, repair, overhaul

No big deal on the on the XJ.

Yes, you need 24 hours for the sealant to cure. So I do the tear down on day one then refit the sealed cover (replacing whatever timing bits needs to be replaced) then on the next day I button everything up.

Sadly I've done this twice now since I didn't do a good enough job sealing the cover the first time. Use LOTS of sealant. This time I used a high tack sealant and it appears to be working. The first time I used the actual Jaguar sealant and was not impressed.
