I recall seeing a post on the clock repair and I will try to find it for you. If I recall it has to do with a poor connection on the circuit board and is a matter of repair or a matchbook cover being inserted to enable the electrical contact on the board.

There used to be, and might still be, a guy on Ebay repairing these clocks.

Also Google "Modulemaster" or similar. It's an outfit that repairs various automotive components: ABS units, instrument clusters, clocks, etc.

Cheers

Yes, send it in to module master. They did a great job on both the clocks I had done: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=39704

Unless you happen have the gear for heat bonding, DIY X300 clock fixes will never be anything more than temporary.

Good site to know about!!
I sold my 1997 XJ6L so I don't need the repair but I have a box full of old faulty clock/switch panels so I might send one of each (with and without seat heaters) out for repair. I have several customers with dead clocks and they don't want to pay several hundred dollars for a new unit.
I have taken a few apart and got some to work for a time, but they always faded after a while.

I remembered reading Oubadah's post on it a coupla months ago, and was dismayed to find their site listed only 1996-later clock modules. I called and inquired why couldn't they repair a 1995 as my understanding was that it was the same part? and a kind lady assured me their site had an error that had, until then gone undetected and they could, in fact repair and guarantee the '95's.....so one of these days....I'll have a module party and pull the clock for shipment to modulemaster and pull the ABS for cutting into and re-soldering.......

Yeah, I noticed that error. Should have mentioned it in my thread. I guess late is better than never...

aholbro1,

I could send a clock/switchpack for repair and get yours as a 'CORE' if that is all that is wrong and you could swap out with me. I don't remember if you have seat heaters?????? Most don't here in Texas but you never know!!!!!

My buddy Don said he came out to look at one of your Jags and was told that you already come to my shop for repairs from time-to-time. I used to work with him in the 80s/90s on Jaguar, Rolls Royce, MG, Triumph etc. He was a VERY good ROLLS ROYCE mechanic at the Dealer on the CLOUDS AND SHADOWS and taught me well on the R, S and T Bentley/Rolls.

Let me know.
