Updated: I had to use the factory method of pulling the fulcrum bolt to get the shock assembly back in. I used zip ties where you would have the chain and cut them off after the assembly was in place. All done. I used a thinner bolt to hold the shock in place as it was easier to remove once in place

The A frame removal method enables both shocks to be tackled at the same time, does not disturb brakes , suspension arms or sensors, and avoids the use of spring compressors. Just sayin' ...!
In reply to the earlier question, the A frame removal method simply entails unbolting the A frame plate and removing it. Using a jack under the suspension arm, release the lower shock mounting bolt, and unwind the jack to decompress the spring. Undo the 4 nuts holding the upper spring mount to the car, and the entire shock spring "unit" can be removed from the car.
