Default Does Anyone actually have tools with their car?

I was just watching a short X300 video on youtube and I noticed this:

factory tools under fuse ID panel
factory tools under fuse ID panel

None of my cars actually have anything under the plastic fuse ID panel.
Not even the bare green thing with no tools in it.
Is this something that was only included on cars for markets outside of the US?

Yes, Australian delivered XJR.
Despite the steep price, AUS$175000 new in 1996 they did not have tool kit as standard. I obtained a NOS kit some years ago.

Same here.

XJ6 Poverty Pack 3.2 engine, nope
XJR, nope.

Both s/hand to me, but no sign there was ever anything in there.

Wow, a real tool drawer container.
I see bulbs, wrenches, pliers, and a screwdriver but what is the thing in the lower right corner?

In his book “Saving Jaguar”, John Egan stated that the USA cars didn’t get the tool kit because it would give the impression that the cars were not reliable!

G’day Jensen,

That thing that you have arrowed is a tyre pressure gauge.

My car is a British spec car with a complete tool kit which rarely gets used.

Cheers,
Jeff.

That's pretty funny!
I bought a toolkit in good shape while in the UK for my car, it's always fun to show people the incomprehensible V12 and the comedy toolkit to fix it....

Mine came only with a rotten foam pan with no tools. Was lucky to have NOS kit from Welsh Jaguar. They offered some for sale last spring.

G'day Jensen,

If you are real keen here is a Jag X300 tool kit on eBay for 119GBP. It is used, of course, and in poor condition.

Cheers,
Jeff.
