I have 3 X300's 96 vdp 70Kish miles pristine, 96 vdp 212000 running strong daily driver. needs some interior work and a paint job. 97 XJ6L with 198000 Running stong daily driver. We've been talking about "one day they're gonna die and then what..." but they just keep going. I tried to sell the 96 vdp 5 years ago with 130K miles for $1500 and no takers. My daughter was in a baby seat in this car and now she's taking it to college next week. Best cars I've ever owned. Now I'm looking at buying a 4th. 96vpd with 60k miles out of NY... good ones are still out there for cheap.

256K miles. Changed engine oil and filter. Drained and re-filled transmission. Greased the zerks. Rotated the tires.
Brake pads check good all around, but looks like I need a pinion seal and a jurid coupling!

256,000 miles

HOLY CRAP!

I have 2 different used couplers in the boot of the car you just bought (still sitting here waiting on you). They are 2 different diameters so you will need to match the correct one. (they are BOTH in great shape)
I think one is for the later cars so just grab both and return the one that does not fit.
The coupler is the same from 1990 to 2003 for the sedans.(CBC8996)

You got your money's worth out of that coupler.

I keep seals in stock for the XJ40/X300 diffs so let me know if you want that also.

Default Thanks Bob!

You were exactly right. It is the smaller diameter one.

Well-worn take-off in the middle. Part numbers and markings match the one on the right.

Still drives faultless and is solid underneath. All original drivetrain. The service history is massive. I think if you just service these regularly and have a garage, they will last the course. It was serived 18 times by Caffyns Eastbourne before the original owner sold it (Sir someone according to the owners book). The serive booklet runs out of of places to stamp at 150 000.
Hi Broadsword
Interested in current mileage? Also are you saying there is 175,000 miles to be added to that total?
