Horn on and no dash lights
Hi
I am currently restoring a 1995 4.0 x300 lwb Soverigne.
after fitting a new fuel pump and new brakes all round.
I decided to refit the fuel tank. I had the car running the other day without the tank fully installed.
Anyway today I put on a new battery as soon as I did the horn sounded continuously. I tried to start the car but will not even turn over and dash lights are not lit.
I have now pulled the horn fuses to give my ears a rest.
the remote fob isn’t responding either.
please help

A few things to check first.
1. There is a large loom connector just above the tank under the rear deck that you may have disturbed. It contains wiring for the security system amongst other things.
2. Difficult to say this without sounding patronising, but is it possible you connected the new battery the wrong way around? It's been done by other forum members including one who was an aircraft electrical engineer!
3. Do some voltage checks at the main power lead for each of the 5 fuse boxes and make sure there is power at all of them. May help to narrow down.
And don't forget to go to this page and introduce yourself.
