How do I remove 'p21w' bayonet bulb stuck in 'pY21w socket ??
So, regarding the rear bulb assembly in 97 vdp, if someone were to, let's say, put a 'p21w' base bulb in a 'pY21w base' bulb-socket, it can get stuck, you may wonder how I know this.
I found that the pins that hold bulb in place on the ...
'PY21W' are offset to one side (150 degrees) ,
so turn signal bulb socket is meant for (150 degree) bulb.
'P21W' pins are straight across from another (180 degrees).
it is easy to get that wrong bulb in to that socket
getting it out is another story
I have twisted, pulled, pushed, and jiggled, but do not want to force it (until it is hope is gone).
Any ideas?
So, whilst twisting and wiggling, the glass bulb part separated completely from the base (without breaking). I first thought oh sh*t, but then, I was able to then bend the thin base metal with a pair of needle nose and remove. I've never thought of doing this on purpose, but It's a good option to know about.
