Have you scanned the ECUs for any stored diagnostic trouble codes?
Cheers,
Don
Hi yes my stepfather is a retired mechanic and he said it could have been bad fuel and I am going to get the codes checked no more supermarket fuel for my cars anyway thanks for your reply Don cheers Scott
The CEL codes for the X300 can be found on page 111 or 121 depending on year

Hi there as far as I know in England you have to pay a garage to read the ecu tomorrow will be the moment of truth hopefully it is stored on the ecu otherwise I will have a big head ache trying to sort it out if I was in my native NewZealand my stepfather would sort it in no time lol 😂 cheers mate
make sure you write down the numbers and don't rely on memory
I fail to remember them all myself
One of interest is the P0335 on page 111 or 121 of the doc provided for the crankshaft position sensor
This code alot of times does not show even though the item is defective
There is a code P0340 for a separate Camshaft position sensor that is only used in the starting sequence
Easy to get them mixed up , ask me how I know
Make sure after you write down the codes you have them reset or cleared
