Default Post brake job issue

So I had both front pads changed and one caliper.
It feels like the brake pedal travel is a lot longer now. I went back tot he shop and asked if they bled the brakes. They said they did. I left the car again for them to look over.
They assured me they bled the brakes and said I have to break in the pads.

I trust this shop, they have done work on other cars with no issues. But To me it feels like there is a lot of air in the system.

What am I missing here?
Thank You.

To properly bleed the brakes you must bend the drain hose in a U shape to not have air going back into the calipers.on pedal pumping action

A straight hose will allow air back in and no hose is the worst thing you can do

Do I need to bleed rears as well or just fronts? Not sure of the brake booster setup.

I don't know if it covers your spot of stumble.

But your saga made me stop for a bit of weep

I have seen a left brake caliper placed on the right and vice-versa. You will end up with both bleeder screws pointing downward which is impossible to bleed. If the one brake caliper piston was seized, You will get a high pedal because you can't move the piston. Take photo of new caliper with wheel off for us to see please. Were new hoses installed?

Thanks for chiming in.
The pedal has a bit longer travel now. Brakes start grabbing right awa but you need to travel more down the pedal travel to get more braking.

Only the passenger side caliper was changed. And pads Nothing else
