Default PSA: lower shock bushing removal

lots of people don’t like doing this job. the truth is with a poly bushing this is laughably easy.

you can remove these bushings in less than 3 minutes. walk the rubber out with a drill and hacksaw the shell out.

press the polybush in with some bolts and a washer you’re done.

G'day Gents,

Another idea, I have used this arrangement several times over the years to remove and replace the bottom front shock bush. A high tensile bolt, a socket, a piece of pipe and several washers. Once the bush has 'cracked' it slides out of the suspension arm quite easily.

I had a lot of trouble with the OEM bushes wearing out so I replaced the rubber with a polybush using the inner and out metal parts of the OEM bush and finding a polybush that I could press into the outer shell and then press the inner metal part into that. I did this well over ten years ago and haven't had to replace the bushes since.

Cheers,
Jeff.
