Another idea, I have used this arrangement several times over the years to remove and replace the bottom front shock bush. A high tensile bolt, a socket, a piece of pipe and several washers. Once the bush has 'cracked' it slides out of the suspension arm quite easily.
I had a lot of trouble with the OEM bushes wearing out so I replaced the rubber with a polybush using the inner and out metal parts of the OEM bush and finding a polybush that I could press into the outer shell and then press the inner metal part into that. I did this well over ten years ago and haven't had to replace the bushes since.
