That's an unusual response from a UK Jaguar Dealer. They normally need the VIN (and proof of ownership) to be able to lookup the radio code on the Direct Dealer Warranty System.
They will only be able to provide the code if it's the original radio or has had a replacement fitted by a Jaguar Dealer who will have recorded the change on the Direct Dealer Warranty System.

Agree with that. My car was originally sold in Belgium and when I called the dealership they asked for the last six digits of the VIN, then gave me the radio code. Unfortunately this was not the correct one, I guess my radio is a replacement or a previous owner had the code changed.

Jim,
I seen several of these 'radio code' services advertised on eBay and never been entirely sure they aren't a scam. We haven't had anyone come back here with definite proof they deliver.
We have a forum member from Jaguar Customer Relationship Centre who may be able to get the code for you. Follow this link and post a request:

The worst she can say is 'no' but you could get the code for nothing.

At the top of this section there's X300 'HOW TO' quick links, and in there about 4 links on stereo removal...That's one of them
