Rear luggage component, Trunk lights
Having got into my trunk eventually and removing the faulty lock, suddenly noticed the trunk lights are missing. The plastic holders and bulbs are tucked behind but no glass or surround. Can anyone send a picture or part number, or where I could get a pair? Can’t imagine why they would both be missing!
Thanks

The part number for the trunk courtesy light is LNA5380BA.
It sounds like someone was in there before tinkering, which might explain why the locking mechanism wasn't properly connected.
It took me a few times to figure out the center clips on the rods. The white clips at the center holding the rods, need to be properly secured otherwise they will fall off.
It doesn't help that you need acrobatic hands to get to them.

That looks like it could hold the light in better than the design on the X300. The plastic bezel panels on mine are epoxied to the trunk liner and not as secure as I would like.
I had a look for the X308 version, but couldn't find much of a difference. Do you have a part number for the one in the image?

Yes I googled the number given by yourself! It lines up with chassis numbers etc, but I’ve no idea, in the hole where mine should have been there are surrounds on the inside, epoxied in, don’t know, I guess they self tap into the rather flimsy surrounds ?
I have to admit, that on what you think is a very high quality car, there is a lot of 'botching' ie glueing, Mickey Mouse fixings etc behind the scenes. It takes me back to my working days, when I worked on very high priced luxury motor yachts, when you took the panels down, it was often diabolical behind them. Gluing, epoxy, bits botched up. Still the outward appearance was good.

I thought the same, but they shouldn’t move too much once they’re installed. In fact I don’t think I have done much with them since I removed the original glue and epoxied the panels back in a couple of years ago.
It is a very flimsy way to attach the lamps, which is why I liked the bezel you see in the image.

Hi
Just received the replacement lamps, they are a perfect fit in the hole and with correct connector ready to plug
in, unfortunately the surrounds were broken, the retaining clips have broken off, all but 1 , despite being packaged as if new, ( they weren't new or sold as such) but it was not difficult to glue them in place, just a pain. They only cost €19 each , about 19$ US, so not big deal.
I can supply the dealer if anyone wants the link.
