Someone is bypassing my Security and Locks
Hi,
I have come to find out that someone is bypassing my security system and locks on my 1997 XJ6 Vanden Plas (X300). They are able to get in and then relock it. At first I thought I was going crazy, but now it is confirmed it is happening. How are they doing this ( I have my key FOBs and keys) and how do I rectify it? Do I need a new lock system put in? PLEASE let me know. Thanks!!!

Have you ever lost a fob?
You can drop a paired fob by reprograming your fobs so only those fobs used in the programming sequence are kept in memory. Any other fobs will be dropped.

Well without knowing who or why someone would do this, it's a little hard to guess exactly how, but some of the possibilities would include:
An old/lost fob.
Someone has cloned your keyfob.
As plums said, if you get your existing fobs re-coded to the car, it will delete any remaining fobs not programmed at the same time.
If someone has cloned your fob, then you have to be sure that it doesn't happen again. But it could be as simple as them being near the car when you unlock it with the remote, and they can grab the signal with the cloning remote...

Welcome to the forum!
Although your post indicates you probably lock the car, THEN someone gets in, has a rummage, and locks it up again upon egress....there is another possibility if you have failed to lock it - just about any Jaguar key will lock any other Jag.
For instance, I just took the key to the 03 S-Type out, inserted in the door of the X300, twisted it and all 4 doors locked and the security tone beeped! Again, no mystery associated with someone getting in whilst it is unlocked - but they could lock it and set the security with any Jag key of similar style. (None of my 3 keys will cross-unlock though)

That, and there have been reports of auto wireless hacks by law enforcement recently. Even saw some video of a guy walking up, using some device, and disarming the security.
....not to say that is what is happening here.
Interesting about the keys x-locking different cars.
In years past, I've personally seen keys from the same manufacturer open separate cars. I guess they only made so many combinations years ago.
