Default upper fan shroud clips source?

- I'm missing an upper fan shroud clip CBC1707
. Aside from the wrecking yard does anyone have a source or a similar item recommendation? TIA

Use a black paperclip with the squeezers removed? Don't know for sure if it would fit. If so put one on each side for that "factory" look.

Hi Oliver,

Do I remember correctly that this is a U-shaped spring clip that slips over the upper edge of the fan shroud and maybe the radiator to hold them together? if so, see if the U-clips at the link below are similar, or just google U-clip images.

Walmart U-Clips

Another potential source is at the link below, but you may have to search through dozens of pages:

Auto Body Clips

This came up when I searched U-clip, you'd just need to buy a box of 100:

Auveco #9417 U-Clip

If you have a good Ace or True Value hardware store nearby, you may find what you need in their specialty hardware section. There might also be something suitable in the specialty body parts section of your local auto parts store.

I assume Richard is thnking of binder clips? A small binder clip could definitely work, but a U-clip would fit more securely with its narrower throat.

Cheers,

Don

G'day Oliver,

I just googled the part number and it appears that at least a couple of suppliers have them in stock.

This link is to a supplier in Melbourne, Australia https://www.ebay.com.au/p/21018080139

And this one to Terry's Jaguar Parts https://www.terrysjag.com/product/CBC1707.html

Cheers,
Jeff.

I actually got as far as shipping when checking out on Terrys website but then saw the transport costs, after which I posted here! I also need the plastic part that bolts on to the radiator metal top shroud the clip presses against so I think it's a wrecking yard job

G'day Oliver,

Yeah the shipping costs of small items, at times, is prohibitive but sometimes you just have to have it.

The shroud supports you want are available at Jaguar Classic Spares but again the shipping is around 20 times the cost of the item. Off to the wrecker you go then.

Apparently there are only around 15 or 20 V12 X305 cars in Australia so the chance of finding anything at a wreckers here is pretty remote.

Cheers,
Jeff
