Windshield washer reservoir
Hi;
My name is Bob Galvin from Olive Branch, MS and I am a new member.
Looking for some help in replacing the windshield washer reservoir in my 1996 XJ6. Not sure if that's the total problem for the leak but seems to be the most obvious at the moment. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Bob Galvin

Welcome to the forum, Bob. Glad you've joined us!
As you probably know, it lives in the lower right front corner. There are a few threads on here; Some have fitted a plastic bottle and others have found a reservoir from another car is a good fit. Can't recall but I believe it was some sort of Chrysler. All this due to the expense/lack of availability of the original. I'll try to find them and edit back some links. If you have the replacement in-hand, you should be able to find the procedure in the stickies, I believe the manual is available for download there - but you may need to boost your post-count to 10 for upgrade to full-status in order to access it.
Quick search returned the following:

Hey Bob,
Did you ever sort out the windshield reservoir on the XJ6? I also need to replace mine and was wondering if you found a suitable replacement from another car perhaps? I’m now in Canada and that item is needed to pass inspection.

I used an old T shirt and epoxy to fix mine. It's been good for over year.
Cleaned the reservoir, scuffed up around the edges of the hole. Drilled any spider cracks. Cut T shirt material to be 3/4" - 1" larger than necessary. Soaked it in 5 minute epoxy and then laid it over the hole. After the epoxy was set up I mixed up one more batch of epoxy to add some thickness and go over the edges of my patch.
