Default X300: Antenna in Back Glass/Windwo?

In my Backwindow on the top is a small antenna in the glass with a connector.
It is marked as "High Security Antenna"

Is this meant for mobile phones?

Thanks for inputs

That is meant for your security system and key remote fob, that's where the signal is received.

Some cars have a secondary external antenna in that location, which was for dealer fitted car phones.

But the connector (typical for mobiles) of this inlaid Antenna is open/empty so it can not be for the remote-fob.

Mine has the same vacant plug/connector. Looks like mobile phone antenna to me.

(I have vacant mobile plugs/connectors in the console as well. I suspect yours will, too. )

The remote locking antenna is also in the back glass (according to the diagrams in the service manual) but I'm not sure if it shares the radio antenna, phone antenna, or what? Could it be that we actually have 3 different antennas imbedded in the back glass? I've never really looked.

Cheers
DD

I was curious about this "high security antenna" labeled in the rear glass.

I too have the empty telephone jack inside my console for the in-car phone option.

Unfortunately the complete wiring for mobile is missing in my car even though it should be there according Jaguar. (if anybody has this wiring for mobiles i'd gladly buy it)

In my back glass I have only this little antenna and the heating wires.
