XJR6 Transmission Output Shaft Seal Question
Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since i posted on the forum, but i do still check it on regular basis. It's almost that time of the year where I insure the lovely jag and of course fix a few things that needs addressing. Now.. I noticed there was a leak coming from the output shaft seal, so this would be the first thing i'm tackling this year! I know there's a guide here now.. just curious does the xj6 and the xjr uses same part? and this guide would apply to the xjr as well?

The rear mount and output housing is completely different between the ZF and GM transmissions.

I don't think so. I've not done it, but I had a look at my transmission (it's out of the car) and it looks fairly straightforward. Famous last words!
It's a GM 4L80E, so you can search chevy forums to see if there is anything useful there. The rear flange is different from a GM application, as Jaguar used a bolted flange to connect the driveshaft, GM used a splined yoke.
