Default 2001 Jaguar XJ8 Loss of Drive Momentarily (Isolated)

Hey guys,
I'm going to try and explain this the best I can. It's a very strange problem and is very isolated to specific moments. Under very hard braking I can, not always, lose power in drive. As in, when coming to the stop and then trying to go it acts as if the car is in neutral or park with the RPM jumping as you apply gas but the car not moving. Turning off the car and restarting usually fixes this asap, or if you even wait a couple seconds while still in drive it will allow you to go again. Now this doesn't only happen when you brake hard. When I pull a u-turn at the culdesac two homes over, mid-turn it will lose the ability to drive in "D", but again will come back with in a couple seconds. This scenario occurs first thing in the morning when the car has only been warmed up a few minutes. The problem doesn't seem to be getting worse and only happens at these very specific moments. Sometimes when it happens it will display "gearbox fault" momentarily on the dash, not always though. Now aside from this problem, the car drives very nice! There have been the odd time when I'm on a slight incline in a lineup going very slow or even stopped and it will lose the ability to drive for a moment. I do have ABS/traction issues and a coolant leak at the rear of the engine. The transmission has been rebuilt twice under my ownership, the last time about 40,000km. I just find it so odd that it drives perfectly fine, and then will occasionally have these few moments of issue. Any ideas?

It's a 2001 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas with about 225,000KM.

In those transmission rebuilds was the A-drum addressed & have you checked the fluid level recently ?!

Yes the A-drum was the issue on the rebuild. It was always my understanding that you could not check the transmission fluid level on the x308 Jaguars? How do I go about doing this?

Might it be an air (vacuum) leak?

Are the fuel trims good - easiest to check at idle (hot engine, parked).
