98 XJ8 Timing cover gasket
Apparently the oil dripping from my engine on the 1998 XJ8 is coming from the timing cover gasket. Is 6 hours labor for the garage realistic, has anyone done one at home, is it very difficult orcan patience prevail?
Thanks,
Michigan.

Yep.....chains, tensioners, guides.....the whole shabang.
Unless you remove radiator, probably will need torches to get the bolt out of damper.
With radiator out though, impact will get it out. 6 hours for timing cover removal is about right.
Good luck.

Those yankees have no "real" vocabulary! Come on down south and Jag Tech and I will teach you how to talk....then we can head over to LA and try to figure out what in the hell they're saying!!!
