Can anyone tell me if it's possible to turn off the auto lock option on a 2001 jaguar xj8? I'm having issues with the auto lock not unlocking.

 

One of my S-Types came with the pre-set configuration of auto-lock (it locks the car, when you start to drive).
I don't like it either.
For all I know, there is no DIY solution for this issue.
But it should be possible for a specialized locksmith or garage to deselect auto-lock with the help of a very expensive computer connected to the Jag via the OBDII port.

 

You can disable drive away locking feature with IDS.
