Default Bam- another one bites the dust.

Wife was rear-ended by a taxi, she is a little sore, but ok.

Don't thin the XJ is gonna make it though- Currently in negotiations with her to get another XJ8... we shall see....

Fixed- the picture that is.

There are a few XJ8's in my area needing an engine or tranny, so I have options. I just need convince her not to get some econobox SUV. Am guessing he hit her at about 45mph no brakes, so the jag definitely kept her safe.

always upsets me when an enthusiast's car get's hurt, glad to hear your wife is OK.

She *will* regret a econobox having been used to wafting about in the Jaguar, if they're good enough for the Queen of England....

Glad to hear the wife is ok.

If that one can't be fixed then it will certainly be worth its weight in gold for parting out or fixing up another one.

Good luck either way.

Good to hear your wife wasn't injured.

A great pity to see your XJ ending up like that. One the plus side, it's absorbed the 45 mph hit remarkably well but I think you're right about it being a 'total'.

Good to hear that there were no serious injuries. Pity we can't say the same about the car, enjoy the hunt for the next one.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. It's a good thing she wasn't driving a SmartCar ! Looks like you'll have to break in another Jag.

Breaking in Jaguars is becoming more of a habit than a hobby lol.

Anybody out there have their car declared a total loss recently? I need to start figuring out value. (120K on the ODO, paint and interior in great condition, heated front and rear but no CD player 1998 XJ8)

Ok- it looks like we are going to get the salvage title and part it out.

Let me know what parts you need and I will get them to you! It is in great condition, too bad it's a total loss.

If you haven't thought about it already, you should post your part-out in the for sale section -- you'll get a ton of requests. Please let us know by pics and description what the interior is like (i.e. code). Thanks.

Hi Dave,
Sorry to hear about this, I'm glad your wife is OK. 45mph was a serious shunt, it shows how well made our cars are.
Good luck with the part out, this will be #2.
