Best place to buy a windshield in LA for a VDP
Hi guys unfortunately while driving on the freeway some tiny little rocks hit my windshield. It’s not bad at - XIXe of a pin head - but I’m afraid they will get bigger eventually
where can I find a great replacement for my superV8 203X308? Believe it should be the same as the Vanden Plas.
I’m located in LA
thank you

Small chips can be repaired with a resin UV cured substance.
We had a glass company come out to the dealer a few times a month for customer cars with small cracks.
Large cracks and the glass company would replace the windscreen.

There is a salvage yard around LA that seems to have a lot of X300 and X308 cars to choose from
On E - bay so researching their E - bay question E - mail link
There is a difference and price for the gold filmed windshield expensive option but the standard already there windshield heat of blowing hot air would be adequate in the LA area
The way you can easily tell if your X308 has the gold filmed or not is 2 of 3 empty relay sockets under the cars far left ( fwd of the driver's door hinge ) small cover to remove
The other relay in sockets will be the variable trough steering relay which you should have on the VDP
Of coarse , the very special windshield chip adhesive is the cheaper ( 25 dollars at the common auto parts store ) try and is only as good as the package instructions ( clean and plenty of sunlight needed cure , optical clear adhesive ( OCA ) or something like that, but specific to windshields )
My windshield on another unworthy non Jaguar car chipped and later went cracked all the way across by not addressing
When installing a different windshield ensure that the seal is good ( and a warrantee ) at the car's right windshield lower corner , causes engine regulation headaches on the engine ECM as water intrusion into ECM connector and inside ECM ( water follows down the wire loom )

Thank you I will get a factory installed windshield from the dealer. I’m not sure about Safelite never dealt with them, but I’d rather have something professionally installed.
The dealer I worked at did not have anyone that worked there install front or rear glass windscreens!
I doubt many dealers have 'on-site' glass installers.
We used glass companies that would install factory screens or common 'aftermarket' glass, whatever the customer wanted.
Professionally installed will be someone like SAFELITE.
