Default Changed 02 sensor now have No Traction and No ASC?

Hello,

Just changed my upstream 02 sensor bank 2 under the water reservoir pot and all seemed well, run the car til it got up to heat when the fan kicks in then once the fan stopped i turned the car off and let in cool down so i could top up the heater fluid, all was fine then after an hour or so i thought id take it out for a drive, i turned the ignition and No Traction No ASC came on the dash, done a hard reset it disappeared but when i pulled away it came back on the dash straight away.
I also now with this have the clicking when the gear stick is in park every time i press the brake pedal from under the gear stick, this is only when in park.
i was very careful when changing the sensor as it took many hours so im not sure what i may of done or what may of caused this, no fault codes on the car at all, can anyone please direct me on what i can do to try and fix this, ive checked where i was working and nothing is unplugged and ive checked all the fuses in the engine bay and boot, im a little lost now.
Many Thanks

I'm almost dead sure this is coincidence. I would check your brake pedal position switch, your speed sensors (at minimum clean them up) and/or expect to probably have to do the ABS solder joint fix.

The Park Lock Solenoid is SUPPOSED to 'click' when the brake pedal is applied. The actuator releases the selector lever from the PARK position when the brake is applied to keep you from driving through the garage wall into your swimming pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (the runaway AUDIs from the 1980s was the cause of the legislation. People SWORE that they had the foot on the brake when they selected Drive or Reverse!! (they actually pressed the accelerator!!))

Ok phew so the brake pedal is supposed to make the park lock solenoid click when in park and the brake is pressed, I may be picking up on that more because of the no traction and no asc on the dash, I will try and clean the sensors in the wheel tomorrow and see how that goes.

I should start with suspecting the most obvious, your battery voltage.
Working on the car, probably doors open, or radio on, or some other drainage over a period of hours, combined with perhaps an older battery?

I experienced the same for a year, a simply car wash and vacuum with all doors open would trigger the messages, and only a longer run (recharging) would remove the warning, sometimes it needed a hard reset, sometimes it disappeared after turning off the engine.

Never happened again since I changed the battery some years ago.

I agree with ERICJANSEN. Trickle charge the battery overnight. Assuming the battery is less than 3 years old. AND PLEASE list the year of car in your signature. I would also suspect the brake light switch assuming this is a Jaguar XJ8 ?

i got home today from work and started the car up to let it get warm just to check it is still good from the 02 sensor change and nothing else obvious was wrong, the No Traction no ASC still came up on the dash.

After it warmed up i shut it down then went about removing the front speed sensors and could only remove the one on my drivers side the other front speed sensor is stuck so ive let it soak tonight in a little penetrating spray so hopefully tomorrow i can remove it and clean it.
I put the other back on after cleaning and the ASC and traction warning disappeared but instead of going for a drive id rather wait til tomorrow and get the speed sensors off the rear and the stuck one off the front clean them all up then see if it comes back on while i go for a drive, if it does il try charging the battery as i dont know how old it is, it may have the date on it somewhere if its older than 3 years i will buy a new one.

While you there, check the sensor wires for continuity, they tend to break sometimes.

After cleaning the front 2 sensors the lights went out when they were plugged back in but the warning came back as soon as i moved the car, so took it for a long drive and turned the car off then back on and lights went out.
I checked the battery and voltage seemed fine and the alternator was good and working well with load added with many things turned on with lights, fan, radio etc, the battery did say on the side recharge Dec 2019 so i tried charging it and that lasted 5 minutes til my charger said it was full, its a Yuasa hsb019 battery and i couldnt tell anywhere when it was made, so il have to see how goes.

Just one more thing to try and sort out, my car seems to sometimes hold some gears too long before shifting up, so i may have to up the revs more to make it shift up when it should of already, most of the time shifts perfect and smooth but this does happen so im wondering if a filter change and top up may be needed.

I would definitely consider a filter change if your over 80k. Be sure to properly top of the fluid and not overfill it, these are a fickle trans. There are plenty of videos available on both transmissions.

Btw...what model is your XJ... XJ8 or XJR?
You may wish to consider the ZF 5HP 19 Transmission valve body pressure regulator repair from TransGo if you have the XJ8 and check your wiring input harness connection for weeping and if so, replace it also.

Thank you Highhorse it's an xjr, I'm ordering a new filter and oil, it would definitely need changing so il have it done soon.
I will check the solenoids inside as it's being done also but I suspect it may be fluid related, as today I bought a 1 litre bottle of fluid for this transmission type and put a tiny amount down the dipstick tube, probably 4/5 tablespoons worth so not much as I dont know what the current level it's at, and the gear charging was noticebly better, not perfect but better getting through the gears up to 5th.
il order 2 filters and plenty of fluid as from what I've read once changed the new fluid will flush through any dirty fluid and could cause more issues so il change fluid and filter, do a good amount of miles to flush it through abit then change it again.

Sounds positive....there are plenty of fluid level sticks on ebay to be picked up.
