Code 1647
Hi all,
I am needing a little help with this code. Car, 99 XJ8, set code 1647 and according to my codes from JTIS this is the O2 heater circuit or bad ecm. I installed a new O2 sensor and same code set. It sets only after a few cycles of being driven. So I swapped sides just to see if this new O2 sensor could be bad. And of course it set the code for the O2 heater on the other side. This is a Bosch sensor. Is is best just to get the 400.00 from Jaguar or is there something else to check. I swapped out the O2 heater relay and that did not affect it. I checked and I do have power on the white wire to the O2 sensor. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure that the wire going into the plug for the heater is actually connected good. This car had a loose wire going into the plug causing an intermitten loss of 12v for the heater. The wire would show voltage once unplugged but when I plugged it back up, the wire would move out just enough not to make contact. Is that good enough?
