The battery on our recently purchased '98 VDP is apparently dead after one week of no start. The only key that came with car is black but will not unlock trunk where battery is located and with no battery juice, the dash trunk release is inoperable.
With no access to battery, need a "work around suggestion" as to where we can attach our Genius Boost to electrify the dash trunk release button.

On the passenger side remove the plastic covers in front of the cowelling near the windscreen. You will see a heavy cable that passes thru the vertical divider. There is a bolted connection (bulkhead connector). Place the positive source there and place the negative side of source to a good ground. That will provide power to the battery and should enable the dash button. DO NOT !!! try to jump start using that connection.
Radiance was down the entire holiday season with a dead battery and trunk locked. The mechanical key turned but apparently requires current to operate the mechanism.(battery dead..???). There is nowhere under the hood to locate a positive lead to safely get 12v to open the trunk and charge the battery. Here's the fix: About 6 to 8- inches in front of the door speaker in the right-hand side footwell is a small cover- the same color as the kick panel. Pop it open and there is your positive cable with a lug to attach to. Apply power and open the trunk. Then charge the battery... Brits design beautiful cars! but...
