Default DISCONNECTING BATTERY

hello, i read that when disconnecting the battery, the purpose is to let the throttle plate readjust itself to proper idle. I did mine because it began running weird, and engine light came on. Since doing so, two days ago, car is running weird with rough idle and hesitations at lower rpms. How long can it take to re-learn?

Yes that cause a problem. Try swapping pulley back and see if cleared.
Get it scanned anyway first just to be sure.

LOL, I MECHANIC HAD TO CUT PULLEY OFF... HE SCANNED IT WITH NOW ENGINE LIGHT AND NO CODES CAME UP. I ALSO PUT IN A NEW ACCEL COOL BLUE AIR FILTER. ARE THESE JUNK? AFTER I DID THESE THINGS MY LOW RPM HESITATIONS STARTED, AND ONCE IN A WHIL ASC AND ENGINE FAILURE LIGHTS COME ON EVERY NOW AND THEN. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN 60KM SINCE DISCONNECTING BATTERY. ARE EGR PROBLEMS COMMON ON XJR'S

I have the JagXP air intake on my XJ8L for about 4 years or so and have been veryhappy with it and the sound/performance... I can not comment about the pulley in which I plan to get one for my STypeR. I hear the pulley is a great performance mod

No....they can interrogate the throttle to see if it failed without storing code. Some dealers I am sure wont know how. It is a very important resource for helping to diagnose this kind of failure. If your XJ is a 98, there was a recall for the throttle body.

PM me the last six of your VIN.
