Default Driver Doors Lock Problem

I have a strange problem, I was driving Jaguar and then stopped, another person tried to open driver doors from the outside, although transmission was not yet set on P and it did not open (like it should). Then I parked car, tried to open from the inside and still, won't be able to do that. All other doors unlock fine. Driver doors won't fully unlock (that metal stuff, which goes inside/outside moves only about 2-3mm and won't go all the way up).

Tried with remote control, keys, opening from inside, same... Any ideas?

It's winter here, could this be related? However, I was already driving ~50 minutes, and it first happened in a warm car, so not sure if some "ice particles" caused this, or water...

Default door lock

I have had the same problem. I believe that my problem has to do with mechanical issues in the door itself and not electronic issues. I bought my 2001 xj8l used and it does have a few issues....reliability is not one of those...I've put 6,000 miles on it in the last 5 months and it has run flawlessly

You can try lubing all parts, latches etc, but it is usually from the lock motor getting weak and not unlocking latch assembly. And its only avail from jaguar as a complete latch assembly

Miraculously, after driving for a few hours, it somehow opened up when I stopped and tried to open one more time.

My mechanic took the mechanism apart reassembled it and lubed it and it works perfectly now. Coated 270 dollars.

He did it. It works. I'm fine with it. I couldn't do it. You looking for a job in the midwest working on my Jag?
