Engine Bay Covers Inquiry

A dab of silicon at each end will do the job, with the heat cycles underhood they loose their grip over time, in fact when I lift my hood the wing seals stick and pull off so they're attached to the bonnet, needless to say I dabbed silicon on these also, a thumbnail amount holds all firm now and can be removed without fuss if need be.

I don't know about the exact part number, but I'll check when I get home tonight - I bought a roll of what seems to be the same stuff online a while back, same mounting lip, cushion, etc. I'll dig it out and see what it was.

AmeriSeal, part number 19600. I forget if I had the local NAPA order it, or where I got it, but should be able to find it easily.
19600 Dual Durometer Side Bulb
I used it on my covers and have had no issues with it whatsoever.

I'm going to order this because mine are torn in a couple places. Nice find.
Just a suggestion for rejuvenating any of the black plastic pieces if you need to: Wipe New from Rustoleum. You've probably seen the TV ads, but I'm telling you, the stuff is amazing. I don't know how it works, but I've been very happy with the results most of the time. Clean the plastic, wipe the stuff on, and prepare to be astonished. Make sure you're in an open area because the chemical smell is very strong. Make sure not to get the restored piece wet for 24 hours. I waited 48 to be sure, but after that it's bulletproof and seems to last a long time from my experience.
The only time it didn't really work was when I tried to restore the inner front wheel well pieces (that arch over the front wheels inside the fender). Probably too many years of road grime prevented the chemical from working. I washed them well, but it didn't work uniformly. Better than they were, but not perfect like other pieces I've done.
