Question Engine years

Hi all just picked up another 2000 VDP with blown engine. what engine will drop in i.e. 2003 2002 x308's as there are a few in my area low mileage. will a xk8 drop in there are a couple that only have 25000-40000 miles on them of course I will be doing timing chains before install on any engine. my 2002 seems to have more power than the 2000 xj8's thanks jrb53

ANY normally aspirated AJ27 engine will bolt up and work.

There is one caveat, I have run across NA XK8 4.0’s with and without external engine oil coolers attached. I cannot remember if XJ8’s were the same way. My 98’ XJR has a factory external EOC but, maybe because it’s supercharged. Make sure your 2000 VP engine and the replacement engine are of the same with or without EOC.
