Default Figuring out parts numbers

Hi folks,

Somewhere on the excellent site there must be information on how to find correct parts numbers for your vehicle.

Sometimes I find them on the part itself, but I am looking for the correct part number for a rear seat heater switch on the left side(behind the driver) n my 2001 XJ8 and the numbers on the switch don't look like Jag parts numbers. (Jag parts depts are only so helpful.)

But how could I look it up for this and future needs?

The numbers on my switch are:

95721 [10]
>PA6 GF 15< (on the outside of the multiswitch)

>PA6 GF GB30< (On the inside of the switch holder)

95724 00 3
PCB37 LED1L (on the tiny pc board)

All decoding advice welcomed.

And in regards to this specific switch, a salvage dealer gave me a part number of LXF 6051CA but he told me it is from a XJ6, not an XJ8. He thinks there is no difference. But I would like to check that.

Thank you.

Download the JEPC and install on you computer. There are posts about this and several 'how-to' for different versions of Windows.

It should be in the Large File Download area.

Jaguar Classic Parts has the numbers.

Seat Heater Switch-Rear-Lwb - Parts For XJ Series from (V)812317 to (V)F59525 (X308) | Jaguar Classic Parts UK

LXF6051CB should fit your car according to that page.

There's something weird on the X300 page though

Seat Heater Switch-Rear-6.0 Litre-Lwb - Parts For XJ Series from (V)720125 to (V)812255 (X300) | Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Here it says LXF6051CC "From VIN (878717)" - which is past the end of the X300 and two years into X308 production!

I have no idea what the difference between A, B and C is for these switches...

I am in the process of adding rear seat heaters to our 2001 XJ8 and purchased from an Ebay listing the rear seat heater console has the heater switches in it and the left switch part number LXF6051CB.

Also here is the weblink to the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog on the forum:
