Default Front tire wear

My 2000 xjr is my daily driver with 155,000 km.

I got new tires in mi 2022 and have probably driven 15,000 km on them.

Today I had them rotated today. The front tires were especially worn out on the inside. The back tires were fairly evenly worn.

is the alignment off perhaps?

Bushes, have a good pry with a bar and see which is loose. Probably upper wishbones.

Yes, if it is not he bushes, you definitely require a professional wheel alignment.
Lift the front tyres up with a proper car jack (best not to use the one is the boot, as that one can be quite dangerous) - lifting one front wheel after another is good enough - and then try to move your (lifted off the ground) wheel by trying to push and pull it with your hands. If it moves, you need new bearings.

Toe out can wear the inside also.

Yes, sure. "Toe out" is one of the possible incorrect kinds of wheel alignment.
Which is why I was (above) already leaning towards a wheel alignment.

To point out how important a correct wheel alignment is:
Back then (way back) I was not aware of how important a correct wheel alignment is.
I swapped the tie-rods (front, obviously) of my van. I tried to mount them in the same position the best I could. I had new tyres in the front.
Then I drove 600km in one go... - when I arrived I at the destination I had no more thread at all on the front tyres and I was worried the the police would spot my parked car overnight.
The next morning I went for new tyres and a wheel alignment...

That's how you learn....

Thanks guys,
A professional wheel alignment is something I should only do at a Jag dealer? Or is a well regarded service shop ok?

A good tire shop should have laser alignment like sharkeye, I would not suggest the Dealer as they add their cut, after sending it to the tire shop in a few cases I know of.
It's bushes though.

As Sean says: Go to a reputable tyre shop with laser-equipment and a guy, who is able to operate it correctly.
But only after you are sure that it is not he bushes, because if you go with worn bushed to the wheel alignment, the wheel-alignment was "for the cat"...

Note: "It's for the cat" is the word by word translation from a German (Hessian) saying - it means that was in vain. The "cat" there has no connection to a Jaguar, that is pure coincidence (no pun intended...)

Thank you.

How do I check the bushes? Is this a big job?
I assume the XJR needs some work done on the legs as I'm hearing clonking sounds from the back.

Here is what we went through a few decades ago.

The original 1997-1998 lower control arm bushes were PLASTIC and were replaced with 'metalastic' type parts.

His is a 2000 XJR, however an inspection is still warranted.

The TSB I referenced deals with the later 'metalastic' type bushes, not the very early plastic.
1999-2000 MY XK Range 034426-A06104
1999-2000 MY V8 XJ Series 862295-F11235

I offered the TSB as an explanation of the issue.

however, before you do...make certain to get an alignment...and/or
replace whatever is causing such uneven tire wear.
