Which side of Fuel filter is the inlet, the side toward the rear wheel, or the side toward the middle of car?

 

the inner line is coming from the tank.
Therefor the inlet.

 

Yeah, I put a new one on but I'm questioning if I put it in correctly. I'm not sure if the fuel line that comes from the middle of car goes to tank or the line that enters from the rear wheel side come from tank. Don't want to jack car up and get back under if I can get confirmation here, thanks.

 

Do a google search against changing jag xj8 fuel filter, draining gas tank, changing fuel pump -- pretty sure you will see end facing centerline is from tank, side facing port side is towards engine. But, it has been a couple of years since I was underneath mine . . .
