The wire color probably does indeed match to the EVAP flange.(just not the short harness to the actual pump)
The short pump harness is the UNIVERSAL JAGUAR PART used in all the fuel tanks to the EVAP flange. The colors are not shown in the diagram.

So don’t know if left or right is Pump 1. I’ll check the harness colors. Think I’ll also check for continuity from relay to pump connecter.
I followed the wire and also did connectivity of the 12V+ from relay to pump. Pump 1 is the left one. Tested pump and ran. Figured out connection burned up.
Can I buy the connector in the third pic? I’m putting in a new sender so have the other half.

What is it called? Part number? Could splice but don’t know if connectors I have are gas proof. Could solder but sure electrical tape to wrap wouldn’t be gas proof.
For whatever it's worth in your progression as a Jaguar problem solver
The colors I used to highlight important wires are not the same as letter codes ( just for clarity )
1998 effectivity print , different than your paper print in above post # 1
Someone did in the past had a specific X308 connector cataloge in pdf form which are different from the X300 connectors , I saved it but lost on broke computer

Decided to change out pump although running under edge case possibility it was drawing too much current causing connector to burn up. Think fuse would handle that but I have tank out and pump was about $50.
As the brushes fail on the original pump motor it will arc both the connector and the relay power contacts inside
Engineering call out from Airline HQ would ensure these 2 components were changed on high current motors
This snowballed into a 3,800 flights cancelation to my Airline to cover for a FAA dirty dealings with Southwest Airlines ( required fuselage crack inspections or that aircraft illegal to fly ) to make the FAA look like the good guy ............................they were not
