Default Heater hoses....

Friends, I have a 01 VDP with a cooling problem that I thought I had licked but it's back. I replaced the octopus hose (which had been done before in 08) and found the stupid plastic tee in front of it was broken and had leaked for a long time. Got everything back together, not such a bad job, and drove a few miles. As soon as the ignition was shut off I heard a whooshing sound and coolant was coming out from under the intake, the usual, and running down the trans.
I filled it up again to drive home, all went well until I shut it down in my driveway, then whoosh again. Same leak. Now I am thinking I need to lift off the plastic intake to get to the heater hoses under there, and that is OK, I can do it, but I am stumped at why the darn thing does not leak while running. That is a mystery. Anybody else have a similar issue?

Sounds like the heater 'feed' and 'return' lines under the intake.

Probably a slight 'split' in the hose and when engine is OFF, heat soak raises the engine temp/pressure?
