You should probably give us a bit more inf on the problem and the car, year, model etc.

oh sry just started this site this morning...2000 jag xj8 base model... it started about 3weeks ago there wasnt any slow leak to more rapid it was just boom woke up one morning leaking like crazy thought maybe it was a seal, corroded or its loose...the leak is on the passenger side high pressure hose (steel cable). i have exactly located where the leak is coming from yet on the hose because its all covered in fluid and grime. any idea of where to start ?? i try to avoid mechanics minus merlin because i look over there shoulder when they give free estimates and watch them take stuff apart thats literally how i've fixed everything in my car or im on forums. but i dont have a full car jack so a standard jack limits the amount room i have to see and work with under there.

That helps a bit, I've moved your post to the tech section for your model where you should get more help.
You should also post an intro in the new members section New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Unless you have had some recent work and the hose was removed I don't think a simple tightening is going to fix it. The only way to get to the bottom of the problem is to clean off the area and see the leak. If it is a hose -- a simple replacement will do the trick.

best to get it fixed before you have additional problems from low fluid in the system -- or fluid all over the car

yea im putting power steering fluid in every 2days right now so it doesnt dry out i just work a super hectic schedule and play football so tough to make the time considering its dark wen i get home... what else could it be besides the hose??? could it be a simple seal??? do i have to use a special solution or can i just blast it with a power washer to clear it off???

More than likely the high pressure line- That would explain the sudden increase in leakage. The host cracked and is now leaking (more as the crack grows)

Not likely that the hose would get loose by itself.

You don't want to be power washing anything -- it should be easy to see on a lift -- pray it is the hose as this will be the easiest and cheapest fix.

The fluid is Mobil 330 -- if my memory is correct -- it is a dextron. I forget what if any info is on the cap or manual as to fluid. Don't put any additives in the system.

Hi I am new to this forum and hoping someone can help. I noticed loss of power steering fluid on the weekend. On inspection it seems the pipe that leads to the cooler on the drivers side (RHD) has corroded. Before I take this out I would like to know what the replacement pipe is or the number?

Thanks
