Default Key Fob (Beating Dead Horse)

I've looked around and can't find a part number for the key fob I need for my car. My understanding from reading multiple posts is that there are two models floating around for XJ's in this model. I don't want to buy the wrong one off of ebay and frankly I don't really trust the item descriptions due to the possibility of it being the wrong model.

2002 XJ Sport.

I'm assuming this is what I need but there is no part # here either: https://www.keylessride.com/order/qu...model=XJ+Sport

I called the nearest dealer but they wouldn't give me a part number over the phone.

thanks in advance.

If you look at the back of the remote, under where it says JAGUAR in the indented panel is the part number followed by the frequency. Don't know about the American fobs, but the UK fobs start with LJ....... followed by 433.92 mhz. I know the frequency is different but cant remember what the frequency is over there.

315MHz is the correct frequency for North America.

When you say "doesn't work" how are you programming the remote to the car?

followed the forum instructions pulled back the flasher turned key to position 1 and flashed 4 times i dont hear a sound but the light on my j gate turns blinks up. This is i confirmed that the car goes into the learning mode. i then press the lock button on my fob. Also the car is definitely the UK variant as it was brought down direct by the agents.
