Default Missing hubcap

Hello all,

Today I lost my right front hubcap of my solar rim. Do you have any idea where to find a replacement or how much it cost?

Dimitris

Hi Eric,

Bcrary sent me also a pm and replied. I need one but if you need the rest or just two I can take a second one. Gotta find the centre hub with the "D" now too.

The problem with these covers is the the way they fit onto the rim, it is all plastic and then a very stiff steel ring.
Not really sturdy, and I guess heat does the rest, not talking about tire shops misbehavior.
I found one on my car glued to the rim .

The Jaguar center cap can be easily removed from the cover, and you can glue is a D cap after you find one.

I re-confirm I will take one for sure, two if both are in good condition.

Bcrary, after you settled with Dimitri, let me know by PM the condition and price.

Bcrary3 was kind enough to send me 2 pcs as well.

for the badge, you will have to push it out from the inside first.
Use something sturdy which fits through one of the holes, and push.
Pre-heating with a hair blower helps a lot to make the glue soft.

If you have just the Daimler badge, it is a straight re-install.
Use thin, dark 3M tape and cut around the badge, then fit on the cover.

If you got a Daimler center cap, you will need to take it carefully apart, I am not sure you will be able to do so without damaging the part you need.
This tread might give you some insight how they are done:

Thank you Eric,

I did the change of the centre caps earlier successfully. I didn't have a 3M tape so I used super glue. I will post some pics when I install the hubcaps on the wheels.I read the thread you quoted yesterday :-) , but I am not very DIY skilled. :-)

Edit: the pics with the new hubcap and centre badges.

I love the pinstripe going down the body... Was that from factory? I may do something like that after mine is painted, just don't know what color to pair with red. Silver maybe?

Yes, its factory done, Your Van den Plas should have one too. As I know the pinstripe was a standard feature for all top specced cars. Red and gold is a classic. ;-)

Generally, and surely with exceptions, US spec cars did not have the coach-line or pinstripe.

I do not have the pin stripe, not really sure what the coach line is, but I do have the side door moulding.
