Is my car cool?

Is my car cool?
So, I've noticed an uptick in compliments on my car particularly from high school aged boys. I was waiting in a drive-through today when it happened again. The kid came out with my order and before leaving said "Cool car!" And these remarks are not coming from obviously eccentric or socially awkward (unlike myself, I suppose!) young people, rather normal looking kids who appear as if they probably know what "cool" is. Now, I wasn't that cool in high school, and I don't think I'm that cool now. I drive my Jag more for the sense of grace and space. And I've heard it again and again how Jags are supposed to 'old man' cars. But this has really got me thinking.
Is my car cool?

So last fall I pull into a large shopping plaza parking lot to hit the smoke shop for cigars with my 14yr old son in the passenger seat...I notice on the other end of the lot an entire row tuner cars with their teenage/early-twenties owners congregated around them "hanging out". My son is of course ooo-ing and ahhh-ing at the collection.
On the way out, I mention to him my intension to "cruise the row and take a look"...,"cool" he says. The full attention of almost every kid there was given to the Jag as we idled past. Through the open sunroof we hear words like "whoa", "what is that", "sweet", "that's the s**t", and even "cool"!
As I rolled out of the lot, I flipped the trac control off and lit the tires up for a second and went on my way. At the next light, four guys crammed into some tiny lime green something-or-another pulled up next to me and asked if they could see under the hood... We turned around and went back to the lot. Needleless to say they were all quite surprised! We spent a while asking questions and checking out each others cars. My son and the group of young men thought the experience was "cool", so did I.

I bought my '91 the day we moved to a new city. I had to take the two middle children with me in the car, and while filling up at the gas station, my son (six at the time) says, "Dad, in this car everybody's going to think we're famous!"
