Default new here 2002 XJR starter problem

Hi Guys, new to the forum but not Jaguar , I own mainly classics i.e. XJS , XJC coupe , I have now won a 2002 XJR however it has a problem !! when the key is turned the starter just gives a loud click , tried the obvious i.e. new battery as this seems to be an issue, and have purchased a used starter motor. now my question has anybody any knowledge on changing the starter motor on the V8? had a quick look today and it appears to be almost impossible to get at (or am I being stupid?) any help direction , instructions would be a great help

Thanks in advance

Jon (struggling)

Check the battery terminal where the cable comes through the passenger side firewall. It may be loose or corroded.
