Default New Rear Badges

Found new rear badges for my XJR on ebay. They arrived quickly and I fitted them. my process was basically to pry them off a bit and then pull fishing line back and forth behind them until the badge was separated. after some glue remover the new ones stuck right on.

What a huge improvement!! No need for a heat gun?

I need to do this... My badges are looking quite sad and sun rotted.

Speaking of which, my little side badges are having issues too (the leaping jaguars on the front fenders). Maybe I'll just refresh them all... Wonder what those side jaguars are called. I'll have to do some digging. A cursory check of ebay only shows the keyhole XJR badge, no JAGUAR badge in the right color, and no fender jags in good shape. I'll have to keep peeking I guess.

Wonder if there's any way to refresh the existing badges. The coating is quite pitted.

I have purchased a set for my VDP as well, but I am unsure as to the proper procedure for removing the current badges. I have considered warming them up with a hair dryer or heat gun (VERY carefully with the latter of the two) and then using fishing line to get under the badges. Will you please pass on how you accomplished that task? Thanks!!!

I am changing my right side XJR badge now, I just got a screwdriver into the key hole area and pried it back slowly. If you look at the new badge, this is not going to hurt anything. My came off without heat, just needed a little work to remove the old adhesive.

The left side I would guess a heat gun and get a plastic scrapper or something non metal to remove.

I used a plastic putty knife to pry them back some, then fishing line to slice them off. Then used the plastic putty knife carefully to scrape most of the glue crap off. Then used bug and tar remover to get back to factory clean before sticking on the new ones.

good luck

for ebay searches "fender badge" or "fender emblem" works well
