Default Passenger door not activating lights

When opened, the front passenger door on my ‘98 VPlas will not activate ANY of the interior lights or courtesy light. All other doors are working fine. I looked for a fuse, but none are clearly for that purpose, that I can see….
Anyone ever had this issue?
many thanks in advance!

Thank you Jim, but I don’t see a “switch”…is it built into the latch?

The latter one. Not the door module.

I hope you got this sorted out. Several months ago I had the latch in the driver’s door replaced because the microswitch was bad, causing a battery drain. I had a warranty replacement battery after the previous new battery failed. I am embarrassed to say I did not look to see if the rear reading lights were left on from the failing microswitch, which could have been where the current was going. Latch replaced with a remanned unit as new is NLA, but the problem promptly resolved.
