Default Procedure to remove ABS control module?

Could someone direct me to a post that shows the procedure to remove the abs control module?

I see the 4 bolts, and the connector obviously, but what needs to be done / How to?? Do I need to drain the brake fluid before opening removing the module, or is there no leaking to be expected? Is it just simply remove the two connectors and the 4 bolts, then wiggle wiggle wiggle?

Thank you in advance

Background: ABS/Trac not available when key on. Constant. Checked and cleaned wheel sensors. Removed abs connector and checked resistance to wheel speed sensors, all read approx 1.18K or so.

Does this mean that either a cable has a fault somewhere OR the problem is in the module somewhere?? in which case I may send my module to these guys to fix for $55 http://www.ebay.com/itm/330733791652...ht_3092wt_1163

Hi
Here are weblinks to the information you want about removing the ABS Module:

Look at this forum thread first "Strange ABS/TRAC unavailable" - post# 23 mentions removing ABS Module without removing brake lines:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-50890/page2/

Article from Jag-lovers on XK but is similiar to XJ:

See post# 16 in forum thread "Front Brakes on 2001 XKR - page 4"
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-37907/page4/

There is a ABS rebuild service on EBAY for $55 plus $15.20 shipping - vendor ATE in Tenn. EBAY item# 380275715848 - forum member bluerdg used them and appears to be happy with the rebuild.

I have replaced DOZENS of ABS modules and have never disconnected the brake lines.
Just bend the $h!t out of the lines and then bend them back.
Don't kink them and they will be fine.
Take the line fasteners loose from the body as far as possible to bend the line over a longer distance.
