Default Question regarding Heated Seats

So since some cooler temperatures have been hitting NY state in the morning, I have been using (or attempting to) use the heated seats. However, after a period of time, I notice the indicator light for the heated seat switch goes out. Is this because they are not working, or is this how they are programmed?

IIRC, they are on for a given period of time, then cycle off.

All 4 heaters in my car stay on until I shut them off or turn off the car.

Mine also stay on until they're shut off or the car is turned off (guaranteed for both front seats and assumed for the back - no-one's been back there long enough to find out ).

Not bad. You can do a search on here, but basically pull back the seat bottom cover. Pull wires off thermostat and connect to each other directly.

I'm surprised at that, mine get plenty hot enough without any mods.

Yes very strange as my 99 had what appears to be an 84 degree thermostat, meaning when the seat hits that temp it gets no hotter. In heavier clothes, you can barely feel that. I could trip it in my bare hands with just the heat from my fingers.

This was a common complaint in my reading of prior conversations on this site

We don't really have the severe cold other states do, so it is not
a feature that is used often, That said, when they are used, they
perform without issue and feel very nice. They do feel warm to the
touch, so they are definitely a higher temperature than 84 degrees.

I guess the stats for them can go dodgy then, not heard of that before but everything can break I guess.

I had a problem with my 94 XJ6 heaters and removed the thermostats. They got so hot I had to turn them off once it warmed up! On my 2000 VDPs they stay on as long as the car is running or gets switched off.
